LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch announced Jan. 12 an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will anchor the final phase of its mixed-use development. Construction on the final phase of the development will begin in March, and Alamo Drafthouse LaCenterra is projected to open in spring 2018.

The 37,000-square-foot, roughly 900-seat Alamo Drafthouse LaCenterra will contain eight auditoriums with extra wide seats and nonconventional front rows that allow for a better viewing experience. New releases, classics, independent films, foreign movies and Alamo’s own signature programming will be shown with digital projection and digital surround sound technology.

The facility will also contain a bar and lounge and outdoor patio seating. The bar will serve a large selection of craft beers both on tap and in bottles as well as handcrafted cocktails.

“The new Alamo Drafthouse LaCenterra location will allow us to provide our guests with an Alamo Drafthouse experience unlike anything they have experienced in the Houston area,” said Neil Billingsley-Michaelsen, president and CEO of Triple Tap Ventures—the owner and operator of the greater Houston area Alamo Draft House Cinema locations—in a statement. “We will offer the same special events, menu offerings and no-talking policies we are known for, but in a brand new, state-of-the-art movie theater.”

The final phase of LaCenterra will be on the southeast side of the development and will consist of the new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, an additional 7,500 square feet of retail space and a six-story parking garage.

“We are excited to announce the continued growth of LaCenterra with the final phase of development, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is the perfect addition,” said Lindsay Kaye, LaCenterra’s director of marketing and public relations, in a statement.
