Standing in solidarity with Ukraine, Urban South Brewery is introducing a new beer to raise funds for humanitarian efforts and emergency response, according to a March 28 press release.
The brewery is donating 100% of proceeds from the sales of the new beer, called Double Spilled: Slava Ukraini, to the International Rescue Committee. According to the committee’s website, the IRC is assisting refugees arriving in Poland and is working with partners to help Ukrainian women and children evacuate the country. It is also providing emergency aid.
According to the release, the beer’s name pays tribute to Ukraine’s national salute, "Glory to Ukraine."
“As a team, we felt a powerful call to support the people of Ukraine in any way we could,” Urban South Brewery co-owner Kyle Huling said in a statement. “By launching this new beer, we hope to raise awareness within our local communities and encourage our fans to support this important cause.”
