A mother-and-daughter duo opened a haberdashery for boys in the River Oaks Shopping Center in April, according to a June 17 news release.
The details
Lisa Hostler and her daughter Chelsea Hostler established ParkerJoe in River Oaks after two years of operating as a boutique vendor at Painted Tree specialty shops, per the release.
ParkerJoe caters to children from newborns to around 12 years old. The 1,840-square-foot shop sells a curated selection of apparel, toys, games, books and Texas-themed stuffed animals.

Lisa Hostler said in a statement ParkerJoe is a place for kids and parents with personality, and that they hope to expand the brand across Texas.
“From a business standpoint, ParkerJoe serves a need: there are very few stores for standout boys’ clothing, and shopping online for this age group can be a challenge,” Hostler said in the release.

What's in a name
The Hostlers created the ParkerJoe brand out of difficulty shopping for Chelsea Hostler's son, Parker. The passing of Lisa Hostler's husband Joe served as a catalyst for the business, per the release. It was after he died that Lisa Hostler decided to move closer to her daughter.
