Julep to celebrate 10th anniversary with proclamation from city of Houston

Julep Houston will commemorate a decade in business on Nov. 17, according to an email from a representative.

Julep was founded by Alba Huerta ten years ago. The Mexican American owner and author has earned a James Beard Award for outstanding bar program and will receive a proclamation day from the city of Houston on Nov. 18, per the representative's email.

Her classic cocktail bar blends "southern hospitality and modernity" per the email, and highlights global flavors with its drink menu.

House cocktails include the lychee highball, hibiscus sour and guava fizz, according to the bar's website. Julep also serves beer, non-alcoholic options and wine by the bottle or by the glass.
