Opera Gallery, a major international gallery known for its modern and contemporary art collection, is poised to open a new location in the River Oaks District in late March.
The new location in Houston expands the gallery's global footprint to 14, joining cities such as New York, London, Paris, Monaco, Dubai and Singapore.
The grand opening
Opening March 20, Opera Gallery will present three to four curated exhibitions annually, predominantly showcasing modern and post-war masterworks from emerging and internationally acclaimed contemporary artists, according to a Feb. 17 news release.

Founder and art dealer Gilles Dyan said he wanted to open a new location in Houston to contribute to the city's "vibrant cultural landscape."
“Opera Gallery has always operated through meaningful relationships within each community we serve,” said Dyan. “Houston’s collector community is exceptionally sophisticated and globally connected. Opening a gallery here allows us to build lasting partnerships while contributing to the city’s vibrant cultural landscape.”
According to the release, the Houston gallery will be led by director Gregory Lahmi and deputy director Kara Przybyl McIver.
