Snack and drink store, Exotic Snack Guys, is now open within Grapevine Mills.
The store sells a variety of drinks, sweets and savory snacks from over 40 countries, with large supplies from Japan, India and Mexico.
Employee Syed Malik said the store rotates its stock every two weeks in order to keep the supply fresh and interesting for customers. Exotic Snack Guys also sells mystery boxes that start at $25 and offer an assortment of snacks, candies, chocolates and drinks.
The original store was founded in Chicago in 2023 and the brand has now grown over 80 stores in more than 25 states, according to the company's website.
The third location for Gyro Rice and Spice is now open in Grapevine, restaurant staff said.
The restaurant’s menu includes gyros, salads, bowls, such as the falafel rice bowl, and feta fries. One of Gyro Rice and Spice’s signature dishes is its smashed pita, which includes ground beef, mozzarella, garlic sauce, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles on a warm pita.
Gyro Rice and Spice has two other locations in Trophy Club and Dallas, per its website.
A new wellness business, IV Nutrition, opened a new location in Grapevine Towne Center.
IV Nutrition offers vitamin injections that support hydration, recovery and wellness, according to its website. The business also provides medically supported IV nutrient therapy, blood testing, red light therapy and functional health evaluations.
Individuals can purchase memberships, which provide credits that can be applied toward services, products and testing at the business. Memberships start at $99 per month and unused credits can be rolled over each month.
Women's fashion brand Reformation opened a new location in Southlake Town Square. The brand primarily caters to a younger audience interested in keeping up with the current fashion trends but also offers more formal dresses and gowns, all with an aim of quality and sustainability.
The employee training includes lessons on how to live sustainably both at work and at home, sales supervisor Brooklyn Taylor said. Employees unplug electronics when leaving work to save energy.
Reformation publishes an annual sustainability report that highlights updates like the reduction in the brand’s product carbon intensity. The brand started by retailoring vintage clothing before making its own products and still prioritizes circularity in ways like using recycled materials.
Reformation currently has less than 100 stores and Taylor said another central focus of the brand is personalizing the customer experience. Only one of each article of clothing is on display in the showroom and customers use a screen in the fitting room to request sizes and adjust light temperature.
Indoor golf simulation facility The Back Nine Golf plans opened in Southlake at the end of August.
The Southlake location will have three private, sound-insulated bays with seating for four, co-owner Reagan Bluth said. The Back Nine utilizes a simulator built by Full Swing to help players track swing speed, launch angles and ball speed as they hit a ball into a projector screen.
Bluth said The Back Nine is geared to customers looking for serious practice or hanging out with friends and family.
“Golfers in the area have shown they want a private, high-quality indoor experience close to home—somewhere to work on their game or just gather with people they care about—and we think Southlake is exactly that kind of community,” Bluth said.
The Back Nine is open to members 24/7. Bluth said the Southlake location is currently selling founders memberships.
Shoe and clothing brand, Timberland, opened a location inside Grapevine Mills before the end of August.
Best known for its original yellow boot, the company seeks to blend rugged outdoor quality and style.
Timberland sells men's and women's footwear, as well as other clothing items and accessories like belts, hats and bags. The online store also has a section for more heavy duty workwear.
The brand was started in the 1950’s with the production of a waterproof boot designed for the New England outdoors, according to Timberland’s website.
The company also has environmental programs like using recycled materials and the Timberloop Takeback Program, which allows old and worn out Timberlands to be handed into stores in exchange for coupons, according to its website.
The fifth Vidorra location in Grapevine opened in late August.
Vidorra’s menu includes street tacos, fajitas, aguachile, housemade guacamole and parrillada en fuego, an assortment of meat and vegetables served in a molcajete. The drink menu includes a selection of cocktails, such as noche tropical and Vidorra’s soft-serve margarita, which combines soft-serve ice cream and a frozen margarita.
The restaurant also has a weekend brunch with options including chilaquiles, breakfast tacos and mimosas.
“We’re incredibly excited to introduce Vidorra to the Grapevine community and open our fifth location,” Imran Sheikh, co-founder and CEO of Milkshake Concepts, said in the news release. “Grapevine has such a distinctive personality, bringing together residents, travelers and families throughout the year.”
Coming soon
Ascension Coffee could open its Southlake location this fall, according to a spokesperson for Southlake Town Square.
The Southlake location will include a full espresso bar, a slow bar, an area in which baristas manually prepare drinks, and seasonal coffee flights.
Ascension’s drink menu includes lattes, cold brew, frappuccinos and teas, according to its website. Customers can also order a variety of dishes, such as avocado toast, overnight oats and sandwiches.
The new shop in Southlake Town Square will be the seventh Ascension Coffee in North Texas.
A new boutique, Bucketheads, plans to open inside the Stacy’s Furniture in Grapevine.
Customers can shop for a selection of women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, according to its website. Bucketheads also sells jewelry, home decor and gifts.
“We're a family-owned business built on great style and a desire to help our customers find something they love,” Bucketheads Marketing and Operations Coordinator Leasha Noblitt said in an email. “What really sets Bucketheads apart is the experience. We want you to feel welcome the minute you walk through the door, get personal service when you need it and always discover something new.”
Bucketheads has two other locations in Abilene and Lubbock. The Grapevine location is also planning to host a grand opening Oct. 25, Noblitt said.
Burger King’s new Sizzle location in Grapevine is planned for an early 2027 opening after gaining council approval last year.
The new Sizzle locations feature an upgraded interior and exterior, including expanded drive-through lanes, digital ordering kiosks and clearly defined mobile order pickup locations. The menu will be similar to existing Burger King locations, according to previous reporting.
“This is all part of our larger Reclaim the Flame plan and goal to have most Burger King restaurants across the U.S. with a modern image by 2028,” spokesperson Trae Martino said in an email.
Besides goals to better accommodate modern consumers, the new location will also feature “bold, modern” aesthetic changes like wood and bright colors as well as “the King Booth and Home of the Whopper wall,” Martino said.
While an exact opening date still remains dependent on construction, the early 2027 goal is still the current plan.
A new business offering meal prep options called Lean Kitchen plans to open in Colleyville later this year, the owner said.
The menu includes a selection of chicken, beef, turkey and seafood options, according to Lean Kitchen’s website. Customers can also purchase breakfast items, snacks, drinks, nutritional supplements and health and wellness products.
The owner said menu items rotate monthly to provide variety.
Lean Kitchen prepares meals locally using fresh ingredients, the owner said. Customers can order ahead and pick meals up or choose from grab-and-go options in the store.
A new Sky Zone location is set to open next year in Grapevine Towne Center.
Sky Zone offers attractions such as open jump trampolines, ultimate dodgeball and a trampoline basketball court, according to its website. Franchise owner Chalmer McWilliams said design work on the park is still ongoing.
The business also hosts birthday parties and group events.
“Grapevine has everything we were looking for including steady growth and a community with a real appetite for activities families can enjoy together,” McWilliams said in an email.
Fast casual concept Tick Tock Taco plans to open its second location in Colleyville later this year.
The restaurant sells “globally inspired” fusion tacos, said Anum Khan, co-owner and operator of Tick Tock Taco. The menu includes options such as:
All tacos on the menu are made with Halal and organic ingredients, according to the website. For dessert, diners can also order from a selection of churros provided by Churro on Top.
The Colleyville location will also have a drive-thru.
In the news
Renovations at an auto repair business, Auto Experts of Colleyville, were completed in early July, company staff said.
The business’s lobby area was expanded and had new flooring installed. Office space near the waiting area was also redone, staff said, and a vehicle repair bay was converted into a new break room.
Auto Experts of Colleyville provides oil changes in addition to repairs of a vehicle’s air conditioning system, electrical system and engine, per its website.
A wearable medical device and digital health care company, Kestra Medical Technologies celebrated the one-year anniversary of the opening of its Southlake office July 30. To celebrate, the company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and demonstration of the company’s device.
Kestra produces a wearable cardiac defibrillator called ASSURE, which has a unique design for male and female patients, respectively. The device can monitor a patient’s heart rate and rhythm, according to the company’s website.
The company has 9 employees on-site. Brian Webster, president and CEO of Kestra Medical Technologies, said the Southlake office is a good location because of its proximity to infrastructure and a talent pool to add company staff.
“There's a really good health care ecosystem here,” Webster said. “There was really good access to talent to build our team out.”
Additionally, Webster said the company plans to continue growing in Texas.
“We're really betting on Texas to be a really big growth market for us,” he said. “We'll continue to expand this and continue to add more sales territories and commercial footprint in Texas.”
Closings
Daiso, a Japanese discount store, closed its Grapevine Mills location near the end of August.
The store sells a selection of household items, including kitchen tools and curtains. Customers can also find a variety of Asian snacks, pet supplies, stationary and beauty products.
Daiso has other nearby locations in Irving and Euless, according to its website.
