Georgetown ISD will be suspending normal operations for two weeks following spring break in an effort to help limit the spread of coronavirus, a news release March 16 said.
This will close campus operations through April 3, and GISD facilities will reopen April 6.
During this time, all GISD facilities will be closed for instruction and all other purposes, including UIL events, athletics practices, facility rentals and field trips, the release said.
"Our team continues to work on continuity plans for learning, business operations, and other means of meeting our students’ and families’ needs, including meal services for students," Superintendent Fred Brent said in the release. "We will have more information to share with you on those plans tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17. We will also continue our extensive cleaning efforts throughout the period of school closure."
