UNOFFICIAL RESULTS: Incumbent Dee Hobbs has slim lead in race for Williamson County attorney

Early voting results show incumbent Doyle “Dee” Hobbs ahead in the race for Williamson County attorney as ballot counts come in Nov. 3, according to county data.

As of 7 p.m., 243,312 ballots had been counted.

Of the ballots cast in early voting, 127,739 were for Hobbs, which represents 52.5% of the vote, Williamson County Elections Department data shows. His opponent, Stan. O. Springerley, has 47.5% of the vote.

County attorneys work with law enforcement officers in the investigation of criminal cases and provides legal advice to the Commissioners Court and to other elected officials, among other duties, according to the Texas Association of Counties.

Results are updated as of 7:20 p.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9, if they were sent from outside the U.S.
