Two candidates, including incumbent Steve Snell, are running for the Williamson County judge position this November.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 election runs from Oct. 19-30.

What would your top priorities be if elected?

1. Public safety, including strengthening law enforcement and first responder support. 2. Infrastructure and responsible growth. 3. Prioritizing roads, utilities, and long-term water security planning. 4. Fiscal responsibility and keeping taxes low. 5. Supporting our families and maintaining a high quality of life.

What are the biggest challenges facing the county?

As the 3rd fastest growing county in the nation, our population is expected to double by 2050, so protecting our quality of life, keeping us one of the safest counties in Texas while building roads and providing proven leadership will be critical.

What projects are most important for the county to focus on for the future?

We must focus on addressing the challenges of rapid growth including water security, mobility, public safety, and fiscal sustainability. This means focusing on core responsibilities, staying true to conservative fiscal discipline, providing transparent government, effectively communicating with stakeholders, and collaborating with partners like the state, cities, TxDOT, CAMPO, and CAPCOG.

What would your top priorities be if elected?

My top priorities are ensuring transparent county business with real public notice and community input, protecting our water supplies and power grid, lowering cost of living for Williamson County families, promoting healthcare access for rural communities, establishing a Crimes Against Children task force, and expanding public transit across the region.

What are the biggest challenges facing the county?

Williamson County is growing rapidly, and rising costs of living are straining family budgets. Our county also carries one of the highest debt-per-capita levels in Texas. Responsible fiscal stewardship and transparent, ethical leadership are essential to rebuilding public trust and building for our future without overburdening taxpayers.

What projects are most important for the county to focus on for the future?

A countywide, comprehensive Mobility Master Plan with smart traffic signals, expanded parks and trails, flood drainage projects, and water conservation and integration projects will be critical to keep ahead of growth and keep people safe. We must establish a medical examiner's office and improve disaster preparedness to strengthen public safety.
