The Georgetown ISD board of trustees voted to move the public hearing on the fiscal year 2019-20 budget to June 27 during a special meeting June 5. The public hearing was initially scheduled for June 17, but following the passing of House Bill 3—a school finance and property tax reform package—in the 86th Texas Legislature, GISD Superintendent Fred Brent said the district needed more time before adopting a budget. The public hearing time has not yet been set. The board intends to adopt a budget following the public hearing.
