Georgetown City Council intends to call a special election Aug. 13 to fill the vacated District 1 seat. Anna Eby, who previously represented the district, resigned Aug. 2 to move to an animal sanctuary in north Georgetown.  District 1 represents those living south of University Avenue and just west of I-35. Those seeking to run for the position have until Sept. 4 to file. The election will be part of the Nov. 5 general election ballot, which will also include a potential 2019 Williamson County roads and parks bond.
