The Dallas-based Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is branching out to Frisco and is expected to open the new sports medicine facility by 2017.
In the meantime the hospital’s Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine moved from its location inside Children’s Medical Center Plano to a bigger facility in Plano temporarily until its operations can be moved to the new campus in Frisco. The temporary facility is located at 7000 W. Plano Parkway in Plano.
The temporary two-story, 15,000-square-foot facility in Plano provides treatment for sports-related orthopedic conditions and concussions.
The nonprofit hospital, which specializes in pediatric orthopedics, purchased 40 acres along the Dallas North Tollway at Lebanon Road in Frisco for its Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine.
