1. Westlake officials announce construction of data center near Keller, Southlake
Westlake officials announced that a data center will be constructed within town limits in a social media post July 29. The proposed data center will be located south of the town’s existing pump station at 13590 Denton Highway, also known as US 377. According to the town’s news release, the planned campus is expected to use 54 million gallons of water per year, which is the equivalent of the usage of one of Westlake’s existing corporate campuses.

2. Dave & Buster’s debuts 40,000-square-foot McKinney arcade, eatery
Arcade and restaurant chain Dave & Buster’s is now open in McKinney. The roughly 40,000-square-foot venue is the largest Dave & Buster’s location in North Texas, Event Sales Manager Jeff York said. Dave & Buster’s locations offer arcade games, as well as a food and drink menu featuring chicken wings, burgers, cocktails and more, according to its website.

3. Frisco planning commission approves Trader Joe’s-anchored mixed-use project
Frisco is moving forward with plans to bring a Trader Joe’s to the city. The Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a zoning change at a July 28 meeting for a nearly 10-acre mixed-use development that could be anchored by a Trader Joe’s grocery store. A Trader Joe’s grocery store was originally proposed for the corner of Majestic Gardens Drive and Main Street as part of a larger mixed-use development, including a senior living facility and open green space.

4. EoS Fitness revises opening timeline for Celina location
EoS Fitness is now aiming for a 2027 opening date for its upcoming location in Celina, according to the company’s website. The business was previously targeting a 2026 opening, according to prior reporting. The gym chain offers group fitness classes, personal training, and strength and cardio equipment.

5. Five restaurants now open, coming soon to Frisco
Looking for a bite to eat? Check out some restaurants that are open now or coming soon in Frisco, including The Imperial Room, a new concept cocktail lounge owned and operated by PILF Restaurant group that is set to open in The Star district in early September. Chinese barbecue restaurant chain Chubby Skewers will also open a new location in Frisco next year.

6. Taiwanese company Foxlink Group to bring 900 jobs to north Fort Worth
AllianceTexas is now home to Foxlink Group’s first North American manufacturing facility. The Taiwanese company will bring its advanced technology manufacturing to Alliance Gateway 17 in Fort Worth. The 147,780-square-foot facility will be a printed circuit board assembly, or PCBA, operation for the company, according to a news release.
