Denton County Public Health reported on Aug. 6 the death of a Frisco woman in her 80s as a result of COVID-19.
No further information was released about the patient.
“We will be praying for this woman and her loved ones,” Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney said in a statement. “Anytime we learn of another Frisco death, we’re sadly reminded of how important it is to practice social distancing, wearing masks and washing our hands often. Let’s all [do] our part to slow the spread.”
This is the sixth confirmed death of a patient with COVID-19 in Frisco since the coronavirus pandemic began in March. The first death announced April 4 was a 67-year-old Frisco woman with underlying health complications. The second announced June 3 was an 89-year-old Frisco man with underlying health conditions. The third death reported on July 10 was a Frisco man in his 40s. The fourth announced on July 20 was also a Frisco man in his 40s. The fifth death reported on July 22 was a 93-year-old Frisco man with underlying health conditions.
