Collin County Health Care Services reported the death of an 89-year-old Frisco man with COVID-19 and underlying health conditions June 3.

Officials said the man died late on the night of June 2 in a Plano hospital. No further information was released about the patient.

This is the second confirmed death of a patient with COVID-19 in Frisco since the coronavirus pandemic began in March. The first death was a 67-year-old Frisco woman with underlying health complications who died on April 4.

Frisco has had no new confirmed cases of coronavirus since June 1, though Collin County has not reported any new coronavirus case information since the Texas Department of State Health Services took over case investigation and contact tracing after May 31.

Data released by the city shows the number of active cases of COVID-19 was 43 as of June 3.


Frisco has had a total of 179 confirmed cases, though 134 city residents have been reported as recovered. Of the total confirmed cases in Frisco, 107 are from Collin County, and 72 are from Denton County.
