Mayor, council seat to be on Flower Mound's May 4 ballot

Flower Mound will have one opponent for Mayor Derek France in the May 4 election, while the election for Place 4 on Flower Mound Town Council has drawn a several candidates.

Early voting runs April 22-30. The last day to register to vote is April 4.

The details

Cheryl Moore has filed for mayor. France has served since 2021, when he was first elected. Members of council serve three-year terms.

For the Place 4 seat, now occupied by Jim Engel, four people have filed:

• Barbara Barrios
• Justin DeFillippo
• Rob Rawson
• Janvier Werner

Engel will not run again as Flower Mound only allows people to serve two elected terms, and Engel has served since 2018.
