All-American 5K
Celebrate Independence Day with a 5K run at the North Lakes Recreation Center. The event offers a 5K run for adults and a 1K run for kids.
Karaoke on Fry Street
Guests are invited to belt out their favorite tunes at Public House on Fry Street. The bar offers free karaoke and drink discounts every Tuesday.
'Lilo and Stitch' dive-in movie
Head to the Water Works Park in northeast Denton for a screening of the 2025 film “Lilo and Stitch.” The movie follows the story of a young Hawaiian girl who befriends an alien. The event will have snacks available for purchase.
Sew Gold at the Greater Denton Arts Center
The Patterson Appleton Arts Center in downtown Denton will host a fiber art meetup hosted by Sew Gold, a creative gathering that creates fiber art.
Open Mic Night
Check out local musicians at Yellow Dog Art Bar and Gallery’s open mic night. Yellow Dog is a bar that exhibits and sells artwork created by local artists.
'Oklahoma!'
Head to the Campus Theater for a production of “Oklahoma!,” a musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The musical follows a romantic rivalry in the early 20th century.
Texas Book Lovers Con
The Quakertown Civic Center will host Texas Book Lovers Con, an all-genre literary convention. The event will feature more than 50 Texas authors and vendors. The convention will also host panels and costume contests.
Margarita Mosey
Sip and stroll through downtown Denton with the Margarita Mosey, hosted by the Downtown Denton Foundation. The event will feature live music, swag and margarita samples.
The Strokes and Alice in Chains Tribute Concert
The Strokes tribute band Different Strokes and Alice in Chains tribute band Sludge Factory will perform at Dan’s Silverleaf. The Strokes’ hits include “Late Nite” and “Reptilia.” Alice in Chains’ hits include “Man in the Box” and “Them Bones.”
Watercolor landscape workshop
Wildflower Art Studio will host an introductory workshop on painting watercolor landscapes. Guests will learn landscape design, color mixing and brush techniques. All materials are included and coffee and snacks will be provided.
