Emergency gas line repairs by Atmos Energy are underway in Richardson, according to a city news release.

Construction is taking place along the southbound travel lanes on North Glenville Drive between East Collins Boulevard and East Arapaho Road.

What you need to know

Because of the construction, traffic may shift to one southbound travel lane between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. whenever work is taking place, per the news release. During times portions of the road will be closed, flaggers will be on-site to allow traffic to flow north and south.

According to the release, the project is expected to last around eight weeks, and major traffic delays are expected because of the lane closures.


Some context

The gas line repair work is taking place alongside the reconstruction of Glenville between East Campbell Road and Arapaho.

According to the city’s website, the estimated cost for the reconstruction project is just under $24 million, with funding coming from the 2015 and 2021 bonds, grant funds, and a tax increment fund.

Looking ahead


The emergency gas repairs along Glenville are expected to wrap up by the end of November, per the news release. Reconstruction of Glenville is estimated to complete in late 2024.
