Magner filed the budget Aug. 15, which can be found on the city’s website, after several weeks of budget discussions during council meetings.
During the two-day budget workshop held Aug. 4-5, Magner said he expects about $181.3 million revenue against expenditures of about $181.5 million.
A majority of the city’s revenue comes from property taxes, franchise fees and sales and business taxes, according to a city presentation to council. Most of the expenditures goes toward personnel salaries, professional services and supplies.

A public hearing for the FY2025-26 budget will be held for a property tax rate of $0.54218 per $100 of assessed value during the Sept. 8 council meeting.
A second public hearing concerning the budget will be held Sept. 15. Council will approve both the budget and tax rate in September.
