Richardson staff will provide a preliminary update on the city’s upcoming budget, including expected revenues and expenditures for the 2024-25 fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.

Richardson City Council will hold its annual budget workshop meetings Aug. 5-6 at the temporary City Hall, which is located at 2360 Campbell Creek Boulevard.

What you need to know

The budget workshops are one of several meetings where residents will be able to provide feedback on the city’s budget, which will be proposed later this month. Both meetings are expected to begin at 6 p.m. within the council chambers.

Individuals wishing to speak at the meeting can fill out public comment cards for the meeting online by 5 p.m. Aug. 5 or in-person.


Information about the budget workshops will be posted as part of the agenda at least 72 hours before the meeting. A timeline for the budget adoption process is available on the city’s website.

Looking ahead

According to the city’s website, the city manager is expected to present the proposed budget Aug. 19. Public hearings on the budget and tax rate, in addition to adoption of both, is expected to take place in September.
