Richardson residents will be able to have their bulky items—those that weigh more than 50 pounds—collected starting July 15, according to a city news release.

Services for brush and bulky item collections had previously been suspended because of ongoing storm debris collections, which resulted from severe weather May 28-June 5.

What you need to know

The bulky collections are for items such as large appliances or furniture. Per the news release, vegetative debris collection will still be handled by Crowder Gulf.

Residents are asked to keep brush and bulky item piles separated along the curb. Requests for bulky item collections can be made online.

Looking ahead

City officials expect a second sweep to collect storm debris to commence July 15. Regular brush and bulky item collections are expected to resume Aug. 5, according to the news release.
