The city of Richardson has altered its trash and recycling pickup as well as facility hours for the Independence Day holiday, according to a news release.

There will be no trash, recycling, or brush and bulky item pickup July 5, which is when the holiday is being observed this year. There will not be replacement pickup days for trash collection or brush and bulky item pickup.

Residents scheduled for recycling pickup on Mondays will have pickup July 6, and those who normally have pickup on Tuesdays will move to July 7.

Additionally, the city animal shelter, City Hall/civic center, the Eisemann Center, the Richardson Public Library and the municipal court will be closed July 4-5. The Richardson Gymnastics Center, city recreation centers and the senior center will be closed July 4 but open July 5. The Heights Family Aquatic Center and the city's neighborhood pools will close at 5 p.m. July 4 and operate on their normal schedule July 5. The Sherrill Park Golf Course will be open during its normal business hours July 4-5, and the city tennis center will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on July 4 and 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on July 5.
