Per school board documents, only two board members are required to be present to canvas the results.
The results
Initially, the Place 2 race between Pacheco and challenger Pamela Hughes was expected to go to a runoff election, which would have been held June 7 as neither candidate received 50% of the vote. However, mail-in ballots pushed Pacheco over the threshold and she received a total of 50.09% of votes cast.
In Place 5, McGowan received 87% of votes, defeating challenger Christina Angelina Neria.
Place 3 trustee Regina Harris ran opposed.
