Amir Omar won the Richardson mayoral race, according to unofficial results.
Incumbent Arefin Shamsul won re-election for Place 8 on City Council, as well.
The results
Omar received 6,672 votes while incumbent Bob Dubey received 5,084 votes. Alan C. North was also running in the race and received 485 votes.
In the race for City Council Place 6, Shamsul received 7,023 votes and challenger Lisa Kupfer received 4,240 votes.

Amir Omar continues to lead the Richardson mayoral race, according to early totals from the May 3 election.
Additionally, incumbent Arefin Shamsul also continues to lead over challenger Lisa Kupfer.
What you need to know
Omar received received 3,772 votes, according to Dallas and Collin County, while incumbent Bob Dubey received 2,830 votes and Alan C. North received 218 votes. Omar currently has 55.31% of the vote.
In the City Council Place 6 race, Shamsul has 4,058 of the reported votes, while Kupfer has 2,274 votes.

Early voting results are in and Richardson mayoral candidate Amir Omar is leading incumbent Bob Dubey, according to early voting results in Dallas and Collin County.
In the City Council Place 6 race, incumbent Arefin Shamsul leads over challenger Lisa Kupfer.
What you need to know
Unofficial results show Omar leads the mayoral race with 3,758, around 55%, of the votes. Dubey has 2,817 votes, about 41%, and Alan C. North received 216 votes, about 3%.
In the Place 6 race, Shamsul received 4,041, about 64%, of the votes while Kupfer receives 2,274 votes, about 36%.
