With expected inclement weather, both Richardson ISD and Plano ISD have closed schools and offices.

Current situation

In an email, RISD said schools will be closed Jan. 9 and Jan. 10. The district said the decision was made after consideration of the National Weather Service winter storm warning forecast, anticipated hazardous travel conditions and expected extreme weather. Because of this, all RISD games, activities and events have been closed or canceled for Jan. 9. High school athletic events scheduled for Jan. 10 may be played as scheduled, pending weather conditions, according to the email.

Plano ISD will be closed Jan. 9, according to the district’s website. District officials will make a decision on whether school will be closed Jan. 10 based on weather conditions later this week.
