Richardson High School students are encouraging the community to say no to vaping at the Vaping Awareness Community Day.

Richardson High School Health Occupational Students of America and #EscapetheVape are hosting the event to educate the community on the dangers of smoking electronic cigarettes, according to a spokesperson for Richardson ISD. Guest speakers from groups such as the HOSA Community Awareness Team and the American Lung Association will talk about the effects of vaping both on and off Richardson ISD campuses.

The event will also have a kids’ corner, where children can learn about the dangers of vaping and how to take a stand against it as well as live entertainment and free food. Booths from groups such as HOSA and Medical City Green Oaks Mental Health Services will also be at the event.

The event will be held in the Richardson High School library, located at 1250 W. Belt Line Road, Richardson, on Jan. 11 from noon-3 p.m.
