Canadian-based Yemeni restaurant Mutabak Karak will be opening a new location in Richardson, franchise co-owner Ammar Alashwal confirmed.

The restaurant specializes in mutabak, a fried pancake with sweet or savory fillings, along with Yemeni fare like chapati, date bread pudding and karak chai.

This will be Mutabak Karak’s third location, and its first location in the United States. Alashwal is also a co-owner of Yemandi Yemeni Cuisine.
