The city of Richardson announced its facility and trash and recycling schedules ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

On July 4, there will be no recycling, trash, or brush and bulky item collection services. For the trash and bulk collection, there will be no makeup days. However, recycling collection scheduled for July 4 will be pushed back to July 5.

Regular trash and bulk collection will resume July 5.

The following city facilities will be closed for the Fourth of July:
  • The Richardson Animal Shelter
  • Gymnastics Center, the Huffhines and Heights recreation centers, and Richardson Senior Center
  • Municipal Court, which continues to host City Hall and Civic Center activities because of an Aug. 22, 2022 fire
  • Library
  • Richardson IQ HQ and the Service Center
  • Glenville Neighborhood Pool
Some facilities will be open on the holiday:
  • Sherrill Park Golf Course
  • Charles W. Eisemann Center
  • Tennis Center, which will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Heights Family Aquatic Center, Canyon Creek, Cottonwood and Terrace neighborhood pools, which will all close at 5 p.m.
