Here are seven businesses and restaurants that have closed their doors in 2025. The list is not comprehensive.

MedVet

The veterinary office offered emergency and urgent care for pets. Other North Texas locations are still open. According to a sign at the location, the business is relocating to Frisco.

Burning Rice

The restaurant served hot stone rice bowls featuring chicken, bulgogi and more. The signage states the restaurant is relocating; however, it is not known when or where this will happen and the company did not respond to a request for comment.Jasper’s Richardson

The restaurant operated for nine years, according to a social media post from the company, but has ceased operations. No reason was given for the closure.

The restaurant served Italian dishes such as lasagna, pastas and more. While the restaurant is closed, the business will still offer catering services, according to the company website.Comet Cleaners

The business offered laundry services including dry cleaning, wash and fold, alterations and cleaning household items such as comforters.TLC Vegan Cafe

The restaurant served a number of plant-based dishes including pasta and veggie burgers, appetizers and more.


Gardner said he left the restaurants in March, allowing his business partner to continue in a new direction; however, soon after, they decided to shutter the business.

“The restaurant industry is tougher now than ever before,” Gardner said.Party City

Party City in the Richardson Heights shopping center is set to close, a company representative said.

The company, which sold party supplies, closed nationwide.


Party City filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023, which allowed the company to restructure and eliminate nearly $1 billion in debt; however, the efforts were not enough to keep the company afloat and it filed for bankruptcy again.

The Richardson location remained open for a short time to sell through inventory but has since closed.
