When tossing around the idea of starting her own business, Nicole Wise’s first inclination was to open a personal training center for dogs.

However, Ed Baronne, her father, advised since this was her first business to open, she should start a personal training business because she has 13 years of experience in that field.

Wise, who has a degree in kinesiology, opened Even More Fitness on Jan. 1 in Richardson.

What they offer

Personal one-one-one training, couple training and physical therapy are offered at Even More Fitness.

Wise said each person who trains with them receives a tailored training regimen.

“I’ve got somebody that has knee issues right now, so we start up with a specific warm up, and then she only does certain types of movements until we can progress to using a barbell,” Wise said.

Some people are focused on conditioning and getting in a cardio workout.

“This is a wide open space so you can move how you're supposed to move,” Wise said. “It's not riddled with machines or extra people. I want you to learn how to move your body, not lock into a machine and just isolate one muscle.”

Who it’s for

Even More Fitness clients range from 25 to 70 years old, males and females. Wise said clients’ level of athleticism is diverse, including those who have done a wide variety of athletic endeavors to those who are taking their first step into athleticism.

“I have an awesome lady, we joke and call her ‘Miss Soccer Mom,'” Wise said. “Her whole family does soccer and she takes care of them. She's never done anything like this in her life. She's gone in the last year from not even being able to do a body weight squat to now squatting almost 100 pounds.”

The conditions

Wise said people are often surprised there are no membership fees. Clients pay $60 for a 30 minute session and $95 for an hour.

“I don't do any deals or memberships because to me if you want to be here, be here.” Wise said. “If you were going on a two week vacation, I wouldn't want you to buy a monthly package and then miss sessions.”
