Designs to widen Celina’s Coit Road are being updated before its fall groundbreaking.

The gist

Celina City Council members amended a services contract to widen Coit Road from two lanes to four by $78,500 to extend the project’s scope during a May 14 meeting.

The original contract was approved in March 2022 and would have ended the four-lane road at just north of Overlook Court, according to meeting documents.

Council’s amendment means the four-lane road will end at Choate Parkway once it is built.

The project’s budget is now $867,400 and is being paid for by bond funds, according to meeting documents.
