Simpson Strong-Tie to open new Plano office in Granite Park

Simpson Strong-Tie operations is set to open a new corporate office in Plano that is expected to bring around 300 jobs to the city. Plano City Council approved an $800,000 economic development grant, facilitating the company’s expansion into a 38,372 square foot space in Granite Park Six, located 5525 Granite Parkway. The company manufactures structural solutions for wood, steel and concrete structures—including connectors, fasteners, anchors and other components.

Avianca set to offer weekly flights to Colombia from DFW Airport

Colombian airline carrier Avianca will launch service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Bogotá, Colombia. Service will start on May 26 and will feature flights four time a week on an Airbus A320 that holds 180 passengers. The airline website shows flights will be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday to El Dorado International Airport


Walmart coming to Celina in 2026

Kelsey Bohl, a spokesperson for Walmart, said a new location is expected to open in Celina in the first quarter of 2026. The retailer offers groceries, clothes, electronics and more.

Geico to expand in Richardson with 1,000 new jobs

Geico is expanding with a second office location in Richardson. The new 165,000-square-foot building is scheduled to open in fall 2025 and will house positions supporting Geico’s sales, service and claims operations.
