With road conditions expected to improve slightly after Jan. 10, Prosper and Celina are adjusting their trash pickup schedules and policies for residents that saw service delays.
Prosper
The Prosper Public Works bulk drop-off, located at 601 W. Fifth St., will open from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 11. It will provide an opportunity to remove trash for residents whose service may be delayed until next week, according to a town news release.
Services are expected to resume Jan. 11, using Thursday’s trash route, according to the release. The Saturday bulk collection will not run because crews will be picking up the Thursday route trash.
The Friday pickup schedule will be reset for Jan. 17. Residents on that schedule will be allowed to set out any extra accumulated trash as long as it is bagged, according to the release.
Thursday and Friday recycling will not be picked up and will be moved to the Jan. 16-17 route. Bulk collection will be picked up on the regular service day next week, according to the release.
Commercial customers will not be charged any overages next week.
Celina
Waste Connections announced Jan. 10 it would temporarily suspend operations for all of its service areas north of US 380 for the rest of the week, according to an update from the city of Celina.
To accommodate the disruption, any additional trash placed outside of bins during next Thursday and Friday’s scheduled routes on Jan. 16-17 will be picked up.
More information on Celina’s trash and recycling schedules can be found on the city’s website.
