Celina Chamber of Commerce officials announced Alexis Jackson as the organization's new president in an Aug. 9 news release.

The gist

Jackson had previously served as executive director of the Celina Economic Development Corporation for five years before she was removed by its board in December. She has over 20 years of experience in economic development, strategic planning and community engagement, according to the release.

In her new role with the chamber, she will focus on expanding member services, fostering economic development, and enhancing the Chamber’s role as a key resource and advocate for local businesses, according to the release.

"We are thrilled to welcome Alexis Jackson as the new president of the Celina Chamber of Commerce," said Holly Pennington, chair of the board of directors, in the release. "Her expertise in economic development and her dedication to the Celina business community make her the ideal leader to guide our chamber into the future. We are confident that under her leadership, the chamber will continue to thrive and make a significant impact on our local economy."


She will also work with the organization’s board of directors and staff to implement initiatives that align with the needs and goals of the Celina business community, according to the release.

Celina residents and business owners can meet Jackson at a chamber reception held from 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at The Wick, located at 107 S. Colorado St., Celina. This event will provide attendees a chance to meet Jackson and learn about her vision for the organization, according to the release.
