Prosper Town Council members unanimously approved two contracts totaling $189,828.50 in equipment and software for Prosper police during a Nov. 28 meeting.

One contract approved a $64,328 purchase of a new Forensics X7 Scanning System.
Council members had previously approved purchasing a replacement in the 2023-24 fiscal year budget as the current system is outdated, according to meeting documents.
The new scanners and software will be used by the police department’s patrol division traffic unit and crime scene investigators.
Funds for the new equipment are available through the city's Police Operations Information Technology account, according to meeting documents.
Another contract authorized a $125,500 purchase with Flock Group Inc. for software and hardware related to automatic license plates, video and audio detection.
The total contract will cost the town $767,000 to be budgeted out in future fiscal years, according to meeting documents. Here is how that breaks down:
