Local plant store Famous in Oregon has closed its retail storefront in downtown Prosper, owners Erika and Tanner Mitchell said.

Tanner Mitchell said the business can no longer ship products out of its other property at 303 S. Parvin St. due to an issue with the property's zoning and certificate of occupancy.

He said that because the majority of their business comes from shipping, this led them to move all shipping operations to the downtown property, closing the retail storefront portion. Patrons will still be able to order plants online, Mitchell added.

Famous in Oregon first opened in downtown Prosper in 2020.
