Collin County drivers should prepare for full overnight lane closures this weekend on northbound US 75.

Construction plans for Friday were canceled due to the inclement weather sweeping across North Texas Thursday and Friday, Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Ryan LaFontaine told Community Impact Newspaper Friday morning.

Northbound main lanes will also close from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, LaFontaine confirmed.

Access ramps from northbound US 75 onto both east- and westbound PGBT will remain open.

The closure comes as part of a two-phase construction project by the TxDOT to expand the Plano Parkway bridge and add more lanes along US 75 and some of its its access ramps to and from PGBT.

Detour routes for the Saturday evening construction will be made available to drivers, and are viewable in the image above.

Editor's note: This story has been updated to include information about the cancellation of the Friday construction.

Correction: A previous version of this story implied both north- and southbound US 75 main lanes would be closed on Friday and Saturday nights. Only northbound lanes will close Saturday night. The Friday evening construction was canceled due to inclement weather.
