Friend & Foe announced via Facebook that it will shutter permanently Oct. 22.

The board game cafe, which opened last September at 2929 Custer Road, Ste. 312, Plano, cited daily, pandemic-driven revenue losses as the reason behind the closure.

"We held on as long as we could, tried to be creative, and hoped we could ride out the pandemic," an Oct. 20 Facebook post stated. "The truth is, we've had some incredibly miraculous moments that carried us to this point, and without them we would have closed months ago. We are beyond grateful for every day we were able to remain open."

Friend & Foe was forced to shut down last week after an employee contracted COVID-19; however, no other employees have tested positive, so the business can reopen safely from 4-10 p.m. for its last two days of business. Discounts will include $3 beers and $1 sodas, and games will be for available for purchase.
