The Texas Education Agency released scores for STAAR tests and district accountability ratings in August.

The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR testing, tests the abilities of students third grade and above. These scores tie into Plano ISD's state assessment score, which was released by the Texas Education Agency Aug. 15.

Testing subjects for all students in grades 3-8 included reading and mathematics. Students’ abilities in writing, social studies and science were tested in certain grades. Students grades 9-12 were tested on Algebra I, Biology, English I and II, and U.S. History depending on their grade level.

Here’s a look at how PISD students performed during spring 2019 testing. State averages are listed in parenthesis following PISD scores.

This list includes only English-language tests. The district administered 603 Spanish-language tests across grades 3-5.
