The Plano Chamber of Commerce received the 2018 Chamber of the Year Award Wednesday evening from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. The application for chamber of the year included an evaluation of the chambers’ financials, operations, member services, communications and a synopsis of two key initiatives, Plano Chamber of Commerce CEO Jamee Jolly said. The initiatives highlighted in the Plano Chamber of Commerce’s application this year were its advocacy efforts and its new facility housed in the LegacyTexas Business Center. In order to receive the recognition, the chamber underwent an in-person interview with a panel of leading chamber professionals from across the country, according to a statement from the Plano Chamber of Commerce. The chamber was also named one of four finalists for the same award in 2017. This year’s convention was held in Des Moines, Iowa.
