Texas Original, one of three authorized medical cannabis providers in the state, opened a new pickup location at 601 W. 15th St., Ste. 102, in Plano, according to an Aug. 29 news release. The site is open every Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. offering medical cannabis products to qualified patients. Patients must be registered with Texas’ Compassionate Use Program to pick up a prescription.

“Since our founding in 2018, we have been a consistent force driving [Compassionate Use Program] improvements on behalf of our patients,” Texas Original CEO Nico Richardson said in a statement. “This year is no different. Patients in Dallas-Fort Worth deserve consistent and convenient access to medical cannabis—this is an important step toward making this safe, life-changing medicine as easy to access as any pharmaceutical medication.”

Medical cannabis can be prescribed to treat spasticity, neuropathy, post-traumatic stress disorder, cancer, epilepsy and more than 100 neurodegenerative disorders. Patients can obtain a prescription for medical cannabis through online clinics or local physicians registered with the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas.
