Plano City Council Place 5 candidate Shelby Williams and Place 3 candidate Rick Horne have won their races, based on unofficial voting results.

Williams, the incumbent, received 10,322 or 54.04% of votes and his opponent, Brett Cooper, received 8,778 votes or 45.96%.

Place 3 candidate Rick Horne had 10,329 votes, or 53.78%. His opponent, Colleen Aguilar-Epstein had 8,876 votes, or 46.22%.

Following the election, Horne thanked everyone who voted for him and also complemented Aguilar-Epstein for running a "clean, above-board campaign" and providing tough competition.


Horne also said he looks forward to addressing important issues such as short-term rentals and working to ensure Plano remains a strong place for both small and large businesses.

Incumbents Maria Tu ran unopposed for Place 1 and received 12,011 votes. Place 7 incumbent Julie Holmer ran unopposed and had 12,349 votes.

Plano City Council candidates Shelby Williams and Rick Horne are continuing to lead in the Place 5 and Place 3 races, respectively, based on preliminary voting results.


Williams, the incumbent, has 9,648 votes, or 54.03%, for Place 5, compared to challenger Brett Cooper's 8,209 votes, or 45.97%.

In the Place 3 race, Rick Horne has 9,621 votes, or 53.50%, while Colleen Aguilar-Epstein has 6,201 votes, or 46.50%.

Maria Tu, who is running unopposed for Place 1, has 11,154 votes.

Julie Holmer is running unopposed for City Council Place 7 and has 11,543 votes.

Williams, the incumbent, has 7,122 votes, or 54.18%, for Place 5, compared to challenger Brett Cooper's 6,022 votes, or 45.82%.

Place 3 candidate Rick Horne has 7,017 votes, or 53.09%, while Colleen Aguilar-Epstein has 6,201 votes, or 46.91%.


Incumbents Maria Tu and Julie Holmer are running unopposed for City Council places 1 and 7, respectively.

Tu has 8,174 votes, and Holmer has 8,452.
