In May, the school board unanimously approved a new compensation plan that included higher starting salaries for teachers and raises for current employees. Under the plan, starting salaries for teachers with a bachelor’s degree with no experience increased from $56,000 to $58,250. The starting salary for teachers with a master’s degree and no experience increased from $58,000 to $60,250. All employees received a pay increase.
Additional details about the compensation plan are available online.
As of last week, the district had vacancies that included 34 certified teachers and 152 uncertified or substitute teachers.
Part of the goal of the job fair is to help eliminate the need for long-term substitutes, according to the district.
in addition to the teacher and support staff job fair, PISD will host a job fair for food and nutritional services March 23 from 4-6 p.m. at the Wilson Middle School cafeteria, 1001 Custer Road, Plano. Walk-ins are welcome for the food services job fair.
