Award-winning Mexican restaurant Desperados will open its third location in Plano’s Willow Bend Market, a company representative confirmed.

The restaurant's menu features ceviche, tacos and Tex-Mex platters. The restaurant also offers a selection of desserts, including a deep-fried latte, which has cappuccino ice cream, maple syrup, whipped cream and coffee flakes inside a fried sopapilla.

The backstory

Desperados opened its first location in Dallas in 1976 and later added a second location in Garland, according to the company’s website.

Its newest location in Plano will open in 2026, coinciding with the restaurant’s 50th anniversary.

“Plano felt like the perfect place to continue our legacy,” the representative said in an emailed statement. “A community that values tradition, relationships, and local restaurants that stand the test of time.”
