Plano residents can expect to see some construction work along Legacy Drive wrap up in July, with new improvement projects scheduled to begin later this year.

Plano has been working to improve intersections along Legacy Drive, including at Independence Parkway, Custer Road and K Avenue.

Clay Lipscomb, community improvement program engineering manager, confirmed that construction work at Legacy Drive and K Avenue finished July 7.

Lipscomb said that construction across all intersections in the current project is expected to wrap up this month, with only a few minor tasks left to complete.


The project began in November 2023 and cost approximately $2.867 million, according to the city’s community investment program report.

What’s next?

Additional intersection improvements along Legacy Drive are set to begin later this year.

According to the report, upcoming projects will include improvements at Legacy Drive intersections, including at Archgate Drive and Chase Oaks Boulevard.
