Blender Brands, a North Texas-based hospitality group, will own and operate the new concepts at Assembly Park, Tacoro Tacos & Tequila and Assembly Icehouse, co-owner Jacob Cox said.
What you need to know
The restaurants opened in November and join Cliff Coffee, a Southwestern-themed coffee shop, which opened in late September.
Cox said Tacoro will be a taqueria with a full-service bar, and Assembly Icehouse will be a family-friendly sports bar featuring live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
Cox said Assembly Park’s walkability and its proximity to nearby apartments and Collin College benefit both customers and staff.
“The people that work for us, a lot of them live right here,” Cox said.
Some context
The restaurants are part of Assembly Park, a mixed-use redevelopment of the former Plano Market Square Mall by Triten Real Estate Partners.
The project, completed in October 2023, includes creative office space, multifamily apartments and restaurant and retail space.
What’s next?
Cox and co-owner Danny Wilson are both local to Collin County, and Cox said he hopes the three new spaces will add value to Assembly Park as Triten Real Estate continues revitalizing the area.
“We’re filling a void that was needed [in east Plano],” Cox said.
