The site plan for the used car dealership was previously approved in December 2022, and needed reinstatement as it expired in December 2024.
The structural engineer hired for the project went out of business shortly after beginning work and took “more than a year” to replace, Erika La Aldava, DriveTime assistant director of real estate said. She added that the company was in the process of having building permits reviewed when it was discovered that the site plan was expiring soon.
What’s next
Following the site plan extension, the project will have two years to be completed, Plano Senior Planner Molly Coryell said.
