Kroger Marketplace held a ribbon cutting ceremony Jan. 23. The store, located at SH 121 and Coit Road, officially opened to the community Jan. 24.

The store replaces the grocer’s former location at 9700 Coit Road, which closed Jan. 23.

Based on a demographic study, where it was found 42% of the nearby community is Asian, Kroger decided to “over-index Asian food,” John Votava, Kroger Dallas corporate affairs director said.

Votava also said all employees from the previous location are working at the new store and 100 new jobs were added and filled.
