The event features multiple stations providing information about water safety, learn to swim programs, life vest fittings, boating safety from Texas Parks & Wildlife game warden Travis Porter and CPR demonstrations hosted by Baylor Grapevine Regional Medical Center. The Grapevine Fire Department Dive Team will be there until 5:30 p.m. Also, Safe Kids Tarrant County and DFW Surf will be there to help children sample paddle boarding and kayaking in the pool. There will be photo opportunities with Larry the Life Vest as well. The first 300 children who complete the "Passport to Water Safety" card by getting a punch from each station will receive a complimentary T-shirt. First-Aid kits will be distributed to the first 450 parents who accompany their children to the event. The pool will be open for swimming so parents and children are welcome to swim in the lap lanes and the lazy river. The center, which opened last year, is home to an aquatics recreational and educational play land with more than 170,000 gallons of water pumping. The REC is located at 1175 Municipal Way, Grapevine.
