Fairway Drive reconfiguration
On April 20 the city of Grapevine began the reconfiguration of Fairway Drive, also called Lake Grapevine Dam Road, at SH 26. The project will remove the southbound Fairway Drive right-turn lane that connects to SH 26. The city is installing a traffic signal to control traffic at the intersection. The project is a result of the high volume of accidents at the intersection. The project will take four to six weeks to complete.

Timeline:  April 20-June
Cost: $1.5 million
Funding sources: jointly funded by the city of Grapevine and federal transportation funds

SH 26 Phase 1 improvements
Ongoing Phase 1 work on the SH 26 project from Brumlow/Pool roads to John McCain Road in Colleyville is continuing to cause traffic delays. The contractor has installed a new barrier along the southbound right lane from Brumlow Avenue/Pool Road to Longwood Drive to protect crews for the next area of construction. Installation of the new water line from Church Street to Main Street has been completed. Most water services in this area have been changed over to the new line. The purpose of the project is to improve and reconstruct the road to keep up with future traffic demands.

SH 121
OHL USA Inc. is continuing the expansion of SH 121 from the area south of Stars and Stripes Way to Business SH 121 split which is adding additional lanes and new on-ramps. The contractor is installing the decks of the new ramps and bridges on both sides of SH 121.

Timeline: March 2014-17
Cost: $58.8 million
Funding sources: 80 percent federal funds, 20 percent TxDOT funds.

FM 2499 reconstruction
The Stars and Stripes Way bridge opened at the end of April and was accompanied by a traffic pattern change. Work will continue on main lanes below the bridge as crews begin to focus on the Grapevine Mills Boulevard bridge, which will open by the end of the year. There will be additional traffic pattern changes throughout the rest of the year.
